T5W is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes over on Goodreads. The topic this week is Classics I Wish Had Modern Adaptations.
So i have a confession to make. I’m not a fan of classics at all. I haven’t even read Jane Austen or Charlotte Bronte (pleasedontburnme). So i had to do a lot of brainstorming for this prompt. And since some of the books i liked had already been adapted quite recently, so I could think of only 4 classics (and yes these are all sort of children’s classics). So here are my picks for classics I’d like see modern adaptations of.
1. Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery
2. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
3. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
4. Treasure Island by Robert Stevenson
Well there you have it. I promise I’ll read more classics soon. Does anyone have any recommendations for where should I start from? Please do let me know.
Until next time. Happy Reading! π
This is one interesting prompt. I agree with your list, especially Anne of Green Gables. I’d love a modern interpretation of that book!

I wish the folks at netflix pick it up for adaptation, since they’re doing so many great book to movie adaptations these days π€

I’d love a modern adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, especially if it were updated to take place in our times. I wonder what the story would look like? Either way, Anne and Gilbert forever x
